  • Help to prepare materials and setup the classroom as instructed by the Teacher.Help the Teacher to tidy up the classroom after lessons.
  • Follow the Teacher's instructions closely. Ask if not sure.
  • Support the Teacher so that the Teacher can concentrate on teaching.
  • Get the materials and setting for the next activity ready before the activity starts.
  • Tidy up materials after an activity.
  • Encourage students to follow the Teacher's instructions.
  • Remind students to follow the class rules.
  • Bring upset student (eg. crying) aside to calm him or her down before bring him or her back to join the class.
  • Help students with their needs (eg. go to toilet, handwashing, eating, resting).
  • Help students to complete their tasks. But only help if the student is having too much difficulty, so that the student can learn to be independent.
  • Take initiative to build relationships with students.
  • Show kindness and understanding about their feelings.

Job Purpose

To complement the professional work of Network Teachers and Network Associate Teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under the direction of the Network Teacher. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or occasionally for whole classes. The Network Teaching Assistant supports the Network Teacher and Network Associate Teacher in monitoring students learning and reporting on students’ achievement, progress and development

Areas of Accountability

•    To contribute to whole school ethos, environment and organisation both practically and as a role model for students and colleagues.
•    Help create a teaching environment that stimulates students learning. 
•    Foster an enjoyment of learning.
•    Undertake other duties from time to time as directed by the Principal of Network School.

•    Assess the needs of students and support students’ learning. 

•    Establish productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high 
expectations.
