UNESCO, in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MoE), is implementing the Strengthening Pre-
Service Teacher Education in Myanmar (STEM) project. Under STEM, UNESCO is supporting the
development of a national Teacher Competency Standards Framework (TCSF) and supporting the MoE
in conducting a validation study of TCSF together with Myanmar Education Quality Improvement
Programme (My-EQIP).
The TCSF provides clear and concise profiles of what teachers are expected to know and be able to do
and how well they do at the different stages of their career. It establishes benchmarks against which
progress in professional development can assess over time; ensuring that appraisal and feedback are
used in a supportive way to recognize and reward effective practice. The validation study comprised of
three phases: Phase 1: expert review, Phase 2: teachersurvey conducted across differentschools around
the country, and Phase 3: case studies of teaching practice, in a purposive sample of effective teachers
and student teachers. Findings from Phase 2 and Phase 3 are being compiled to be discussed with
different stakeholders at a consultation meeting in March 2020. The TCSF is expected to be finalized by
mid April 2020.

Job description
Wall Street English in beautiful Myanmar is looking for native English instructors for adults. There are currently three centres in Yangon and two in Mandalay, with approximately 2000 students currently attending. If you are qualified and interested in working for a cutting edge company, and want to experience the rich culture of “the Golden Land”, then we want to hear from you!
Why Wall Street English?
With centres in 29 different countries across 4 continents, WSE is a trusted and well-established institution for both teachers and learners.
WSE offers our adult students a variety of classes to help them reach their goals. Our core classes have only a maximum of 5 students, allowing for a comfortable, fun, and engaging experience for both students and teachers. Our instructors use pre-planned digital (tablet-based) lesson material, so there is minimum lesson preparation needed.
Yet, Social Classes are devised by the teacher, offering the opportunity to deliver a lesson born from your personal teaching style, interests, and creativity.
To maintain our high standards, we provide our teachers with training as soon as they are onboarded, and ongoing professional development.
Our centres are modern and quite lively as many of our students spend a great deal of their free time there. You'll be working closely with both ex-pat and local staff. Our strong sense of community is one thing that makes us unique from other institutions.

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any subject
