From August 2020, the school wishes to appoint an outstanding teacher of Economics and Business to join our forward-looking Secondary School.
A specialist Economics Teacher, able to teach Economics IGCSE and A-Level and some Business Studies to IGCSE. You will challenge your students to set ambitious targets for themselves and seek out and implement innovative teaching practices to enhance the student experience and outcomes.
This is a highly valued department with a large number of students taking Economics and Business at A-Level. We are looking for a truly outstanding teacher who is a team player and will support the progress of students and extend and inspire students.
Professional Requirements
The successful candidate will:
Hold at least a good honours degree;
Have a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE or PGCEi);
Have experience and excellent knowledge of teaching Economics/Business Studies to IGCSE and A-Level;
Have experience working with students for whom English is not their first language;
Have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience;
Be willing to participate in educational visits;
Be asked to run one after school activity each term;
Have a positive and solution finding approach to their working life;
Appreciate the joys and challenges of working in an international school environment.
Candidates with experience of teaching in an international secondary school are especially welcome. Experience of working at a CIS member / accredited school would be an added advantage but is not essential.

Responsibilities
1. Ensure the school building and premises are safe and secure for all school activities
Heath - To follow SIS health policy and set up procedure including the personnel, and facilities , such as sickbay , toilets and waste handling.
- To made sure that the food and drink served in the canteen, and the people who are working in the canteen always conform to SIS health and hygiene standards.
Safety - To follow SIS Safety policy and set up procedure including the personnel, and facilities, such as fire detector system, fire extinguishing system, also emergency drill and other safety drills.
- To set up Emergency Response Team who will be in charge in emergency situation.
Security - To follow SIS health policy and set up procedure including the personnel, and facilities , such as CCTV camera system.
- To maintain good relationship with the local police.
Social and Environment
- To maintain good relationship surrounding community.
- To make sure that the School activities will conform to the environmental emission norms under the
ESG Compliance as laid down by the Law of the Land in which SIS Myanmar operates.
2. To make sure that the Buildings, Facilities and Utilities are working properly, including to have back-up electricity system, and building repair and maintenance system.
3. To support school activities and events, from providing all personnel, preparing location and facilities needed.
4. To conduct HR works which is directed by HR Dept in Head Office ,such as all recruitment and contract process employee, and attendance report.
5. To comply with regulation in term of building and school permit, including expat teachers' paperwork and documents, and to liaise with the related authorities to get the permit and other legal documents, and to liaise with the related authorities to get the permit and other legal documents needed.
6. To take charge of all administration works and agreements with third parties related with GA Dept.
7. To manage budget and school assets accordingly , including being responsible for procurement activities which is done by GA Dept.

• Have organized and responsibly followed by yearly course and curriculum planning.
• Can work to finish the quarterly assessment of student work/assignments.
• To update activities including curriculum and professional are undertaken and agreed with HND courses.
• To participate in internal verification and moderation procedures with Academic Consultant and Quality Nominees.
• To involve inappropriate team and Committee meetings upon the situation.
• To work an annual teaching workload of duties hours as detailed in the college workload agreement
• To work together with program coordinators to create lesson plans.
• To involve for student's entrance exam procedures (Explaining, writing Test, Oral test).
Male/Female
• MBA, M.Com, MBF, MPA, Ph.D. degree holders -preferred.
• Relevant work and teaching experiences educational establishment
• Have at least 3 years of successful teaching experience in educational institutions.
• Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure
• Ability to successfully operate as a lecture for over 16 years of students.
• Have experience of using ICT in both lesson planning and demonstration abilities.
• Ability to work with a team in the Business Department's Administration
• Can work with one year contract.
• Prefer international authorized degree holders and teaching experience in international and universities.
